Excellent at the basics
I haven't had a chance to play with the advanced settings but for basic shots the quality is excellent. I took pictures of players 100m (300ft) away from me at a match and they were very good (albeit in good light). More >>

Nice intro to the new uber zoom cameras
I just bought this camera with the 8 gig accessory package from this website via a 3rd party vendor...I like what I see so far...it's a nice, powerful camera with the cool add-on bottom for vertical pictures...the LCD screen is crystal clear and bright...the zoom is nice - but strangely not as far as I thought...the Kodak online video of the z980 made it seem like you could see miles away up close with this lens...not really.
