Great product. Good backup alternative to laptops.
This product is a good solution for backing up your data if you have just one desktop PC or a laptop. If you just have one laptop, a network accessed storage(NAS) device is an overkill and more expensive.

I Bought 2 & Both Crashed Under 6mo!
I bought an older usb version and newer firewire version this past fall.
The firewire drive gets way too hot and crashed almost immediately after purchase
and the older usb version inexplicably crashed a few months later.

The notes on the pictures are wrong!
Someone posted pictures with notes complaining the drive is not in a "solid aluminum enclosure", as they claim Iomega states.

Quiet, light and beautiful exterior!
This hard drive is so conveniently light, and comes in a sleek red that keep my friends and family in envy. Every time i have used it, it has been super quiet and does not heat up.
