Nice little unit
This unit is very accurate. We got this unit mainly for geocaching. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the fact it's not capable of reading geocaches of the card reader.

Dakota GPS is good, base map sucks
The device is good, the base map sucks!

Dakota 20 makes good on claims
The Garmin Dakota 20 makes good on all of its claims. The screen brightness is not, I repeat not an issue.

Good but maybe the Oregon is better?
My buddy at work bought an Oregon 300 and I decided to go with the Dakota because of the 3 axis compass and the better battery life.
