The Shure SM58 S is identical to the SM58 with the addition of a convenient on/off switch. With its unmistakable sound quality and unsurpassed reliability, the SM58S dynamic mic has been a standard on stages throughout the world for years. A carefully tailored frequency rise at about 4,000 Hz makes the vocals stand out in the mix and yet keeps them smooth and "easy on the ears." A Shure Bet.
I made the mistake of thinking I could save forty bucks and get by with the Shure PG-58. I'm no vocalist but occasionally need to do announcements or accommodate a guest vocalist through an instrument amp (rather than a P.A.).

Stay Away from this seller
Seller tried to sneak the standard SM58 (without the on-off switch) into my order TWICE. I spent nearly $20 on shipping and tracking to return the incorrect order, had to file a complaint with Amazon, and I'm still out $100.
